March 1, 2013 Sacramento – This year, the Libertarian Party of California’s annual convention will offer four optional special events on Friday, April 5: advocacy training, a rally on the Capitol’s West Steps, meetings with legisl…ators, and a reception. Details are available on the Party’s website at http://ca.lp.org/2013-convention, or by calling the Party’s office at (916) 446-1776 ext. 6.

Advocacy training is from 9:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m. at Perko’s Cafe, 925 3rd Street (at J Street). Registration begins at 8:30 a.m.

The rally on the Capitol’s West Steps is from 10:30 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. Among the speakers will be Assembly member Tim Donnelly (R-Hesperia) at noon. Other elected officials are negotiating their schedules to speak at the rally as well.

From 1:30 until 4:30 p.m., advocacy trainees will meet with elected officials in the Capitol at scheduled times, to present Party positions on issues.

At 6:00 p.m. Friday, April 5, the Party’s convention registration opens, as will their Friday evening reception. All rally and convention attendees are welcome to enjoy the reception.

The convention’s business sessions extend over Saturday and Sunday, with speakers, workshops, and breakout sessions throughout the day. For details, visit the Libertarian Party of California’s website at http://ca.lp.org/2013-convention, or call the office at (916) 446-1776 ext 6.
